Trophy Kart Concept

Trophy Class is the only category in Australian karting where every driver competes with the same equipment. There is no more pressure to spend money on various axles, wheels, hubs and many other components. Simply turn up on race day knowing that any kart you are trying to beat is the same as yours. This puts the full focus on the driver.

What is the overall concept of Trophy Class? Chassis, Axle, Wheels, Front Hubs, Rear Hubs, Bodywork, Steering Wheel, Brake System, Front Torsion Bar, Steering Column, Stub Axles, Floor Tray. What components on the chassis are controlled? All controlled components are laser etched with the “IKD Trophy” logo.

Various random checks will be conducted by Karting Australia officials and IKD staff to ensure components are compliant with the Trophy Class Technical Regulations as published by Karting Australia. How will the controlled components be policed? A Trophy Kart package is supplied in TaG-Restricted specification. If you go to an event where Trophy Class is not offered, you can compete in normal TaG-Restricted without changing anything. As you progress, if you wish to run Open TaG, simply remove the restrictor.

Buying a Trophy Kart does not restrict where you can race whatsoever.

Where can I race my Trophy Kart? No, only the IPK Trophy Kart chassis and a Rotax Senior MAX engine are eligible to use in Trophy Class.

The overall concept of Trophy Class is that everyone competes with the same equipment. This also eliminates any parity concerns between various engines makes.

Is there any other engine or chassis allowed? Trophy Kart comes with a choice of 4 different sticker kit colours (blue, orange, pink, blue-orange). You are also free to use your own sticker kit design!

Trophy Class uses the same tyre that is used in TaG-Restricted.

Every driver competes with identical equipment - no need to invest in multiple axles, wheels, hubs, or tuning parts. There is no second-guessing whether you have chosen the right kart or components. The result is lower costs, a simpler entry into the sport, and a level playing field where everything comes down to one thing: PURE DRIVING SKILL.
